Full methodology
How we collect provider data
Our team systematically gathers plan details, pricing, validity periods, data allowances, fair usage policies, and Turkish host network partnerships directly from provider purchase portals and carrier documentations. We maintain a centralized pricing database updated on a rolling schedule.
All prices are converted to GBP at the time of verification using live or benchmark exchange rates. Where providers charge in USD or EUR, our GBP prices represent the estimated checkout total, with all card starting prices dynamically calculated from the lowest active plan in our database.
What data we verify for each provider
- Plan pricing — Verified directly from the provider's purchase page
- Data limits — GB amounts or unlimited status, including any fair-use throttling policies
- Validity period — How many days the plan remains active
- Network partners — Which Turkish network(s) the eSIM connects to (Turkcell, Türk Telekom, Vodafone Turkey)
- Hotspot/tethering — Whether the plan permits sharing data with other devices
- Activation method — QR code, app-based, or manual entry
- eSIM compatibility — Whether the provider's system supports the eSIM standard for standard devices
How we rank providers
Our comparison table defaults to showing all providers with their full plan range. Providers are not ranked by affiliate commission rates.
When sorting by "Best value", we calculate price per GB for capped plans, which is the most objective way to compare different plan sizes. For unlimited plans, we sort by headline price.
Editorial badges (such as "Best for Value" or "Top Pick") are awarded based on our assessment of the overall package: price, network quality, hotspot access, app quality, and customer reviews. These are editorial decisions and are not influenced by affiliate relationships.
How often we update prices
We aim to verify provider pricing at least once per month. Major providers (Airalo, Holafly, Saily) are checked more frequently as their prices can change with promotions.
Each provider page displays a "Last verified" date. If a price you see on our site differs from the price on the provider's website, the provider's website is always authoritative — always check before purchasing.
Trustpilot ratings
Where shown, Trustpilot ratings are sourced from publicly available Trustpilot review pages for each provider. These are manually updated periodically and may not reflect the exact current rating. We link directly to each provider's Trustpilot page so you can verify the current score yourself.
Network coverage information
Network coverage information is sourced from official Turkish operator websites (Turkcell, Türk Telekom, Vodafone Turkey) and from community reports. Coverage quality can vary in specific locations. We recommend checking the operator's official coverage map for your specific destinations.
Our editorial independence
eSIM Turkey earns revenue through affiliate commissions when readers click provider links and make purchases. This is disclosed on every page via our affiliate disclosure.
Affiliate commission rates do not influence our rankings, editorial badges, or written reviews. Some providers we feature do not have active affiliate programmes — we include them anyway if they offer good value to UK travellers.
