iPhone

Apple introduced eSIM technology starting with the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR in September 2018. All subsequent iPhone generations (iPhone 11 through iPhone 16 series and SE 2nd/3rd gen) feature built-in eSIM functionality. If you own an iPhone purchased in the UK or Europe, your device features a Dual SIM configuration (one physical nano-SIM tray + multiple digital eSIM profiles), allowing you to keep your UK mobile number active for 2FA security codes and WhatsApp while using a cheap Turkish eSIM for all mobile data.

Samsung Galaxy

Samsung introduced eSIM capability across its flagship Galaxy devices starting with the Galaxy S20 series in 2020. Today, all modern flagship Galaxy S series (S20 through S25 series), Galaxy Z Fold/Flip series, and selected Galaxy A series (A54 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G) support eSIM in the UK and Europe. Samsung's One UI SIM Manager makes it straightforward to run your UK physical SIM or eSIM alongside a dedicated Turkish data eSIM.

General eSIM compatibility rules

Most modern smartphones support eSIM, but there are some important things to check before buying a Turkey eSIM:

Is my phone carrier-locked?

If your phone was bought on contract in the UK, it may be locked to one carrier (EE, Vodafone, O2, Three). A carrier-locked phone cannot use an eSIM from a different provider. Contact your UK carrier to get an unlock — most will unlock for free if your contract has ended.

Does my phone support Dual SIM + eSIM?

Most eSIM-compatible phones support Dual SIM — meaning you can keep your UK SIM active for calls while using the Turkey eSIM for data. Check your phone model below to confirm.

How do I install a Turkey eSIM?

After purchasing, you receive a QR code by email. Scan it from Settings → Mobile Data (or Cellular) → Add eSIM. Some providers also offer app-based installation. The whole process takes under 2 minutes.
