Frequently Asked Questions: Android Turkey eSIM

Which Android phones support eSIM for Turkey?

Most premium Android smartphones support eSIM. This includes Samsung Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, S24, and S25 series (excluding FE "Fan Edition" models in some regions), Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series, Google Pixel 4 through Pixel 9 series, and select recent Xiaomi, Sony Xperia, and Motorola Edge devices. Your phone must be network-unlocked.

How do I check if my Samsung Galaxy supports eSIM?

Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager. If you see an option to "Add eSIM" or "Add mobile plan", your Samsung phone has eSIM hardware. If you only see physical SIM 1 and SIM 2 slots, your model does not support eSIM.

Where do I scan a QR code on Google Pixel?

On Google Pixel phones running Android 12, 13, 14, or 15, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs (tap the "+" icon next to SIMs). Tap "Download a SIM instead?" and then "Next". Your camera will launch to scan the provider's QR code.

What is "Auto data switching" on Samsung and should I disable it?

Yes, DISABLE IT! In Samsung SIM manager, "Auto data switching" allows your phone to switch internet traffic to your primary UK SIM if the Turkish eSIM signal fluctuates. Leaving this turned on can trigger unexpected £2.50 to £6.00 daily roaming fees from your UK carrier. Always keep it toggled OFF.

Why does my Android show "Connected without internet" in Turkey?

This almost always means Data Roaming is turned OFF for the eSIM line, or the APN needs manual configuration. Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks, ensure Data Roaming is toggled ON, and check Access Point Names (APNs) against your provider's instructions.
